In the JBL system, the head unit isn’t actually driving the speakers It’s not actually putting out any power at all All it’s doing is sending a data signal to the JBL amp back by the subwoofer This data signal is the radio sending the audio signal, as well as telling the JBL amp how to set the EQ and fade balance

The JBL Venue Series Stadiums (dual 8" 3 way speaker) got rave reviews on amazon com- and for the current price- it seems like a steal- $126 99 speaker My question is, does anyone know if the speakers truly live up to all the hype? Or can anyone offer reccomendations for nice tower speakers that won't kill my wallet?

Ok, I received my JBL Studio 570 speakers on Friday, ordered on Tuesday night so pretty fast shipping They are quite small towers at just 34 inches tall They pack a nice punch though, compression tweeter, dual 5 25 inch woofers Very large waveguide They are not nearly as ugly in person as they are in pictures or videos

Specifically, JBL 2226H 15" woofers, JBL 2426H J HF compression drivers with JBL 2370A horns and JBL 3120A crossovers, crossing over at 1250 Hz I will be pushing these speakers with a recently restored Sansui 9090DB at 8 Ohms The 3120A JBL crossovers call for a LF of 8 ohms and a HF of 16 ohms

I was impressed enough to compare them to my bedroom speakers, a pair of mass loaded Monitor Audio Bronze 3's There the MA's started to pull away in all catagories, but they cost 2 or 3 times what I paid for the JBLs This is a long post for speakers so inexpensive! Note, I say "inexpensive", not cheap The JBL HLS line was truly exceptional
