I'm on Xywav twice nightly and 4 hours is the maximum time I'm allowed to wait to take the second dose after taking the first (regardless of how long it takes for me to fall asleep) Taking the second dose past 4 hours could be the cause of feeling groggy during the day

Xyrem xywav cost $$$ but there is a patient assistance program (if you have insurance) that brings it down to $35 month That's how we can afford it and you'll be able to as well If insurance denies xywav, appeal a few times, and if still not covered, Jazz has a program for you where you can get it for little or no cost

Xywav has helped a lot! Try not to get weirded out about how you feel when it kicks in if you haven’t fallen asleep yet Think of it as just getting high, which people do anyways with other drugs, and enjoy the feeling until you fall asleep

Interestingly, one of the ways xyrem wav works [and it has a frustratingly large number of areas of the brain it effects (1)] is that it suppresses the production of (2) dopamine in the brain when concentrations in your body are high

I’ve heard slow titration works better with the med in terms of being able to tolerate it, just a heads up before you increase But yah I get that lucid state super frequently even with xywav im awake when im dreaming particularly early morning now

i’m going to tokyo next week and called ESSDS but they didn’t have anything specific for me besides bringing a letter of medical necessity from my doctor, which i have has anyone traveled to japan with this medication and had not had issues? i travel domestically for work several times a week so i am familiar with xywav and the TSA, but
